University Of Arkansas Locker Room Entertainment Trunk
This trunk was designed for the University Of Arkansas as a portable locker room entertainment system. The system is centered around a Sony 47" LED-LCD TV, Apple TV which provides wireless integration, and a studio grade KRK sound system.
The system is extremely easy to use and functions like a standard home entertainment system. All system functions are controlled by the TV remote; the TV features custom input names that correspond to the components within the case such as "iPod In" and "Apple TV". The TV is mounted on a electric lift that can either be operated via a remote control or a hard wired rocker switch.
Audio is handled by a 2.1 KRK studio grade sound system. The left and right speakers are 2 way designs with a 5" woofers and 1" tweeters. The subwoofer features a 10" woofer and integrated 150w amplifier. Audio is routed to the sound system via the TV and can handle wireless audio input via Airplay from the systems included Apple TV or hard wired via a standard 1/8" (3.5mm) input jack.
The trunk also provides wireless internet to the locker room via a Apple Airport Extreme router. The router acts as a network switch providing hard wired ethernet to all the trunk components like the Apple TV and Sony monitor as well as providing WIFI to the locker room. All external inputs are routed through a custom IO panel which features 2 Cat5 Jacks (WAN IN & Ethernet Out), 2 HDMI jacks (additional inputs for the TV) and 2 USB jacks (TV inputs & phone charging). Also included in the input section of the trunk is a 6 outlet courtesy power strip. All system components were specified, provided and installed by the LM Cases Custom Integration Department.
The trunk exterior is built from 3/8" plywood laminated with black fiberglass featuring a custom silkscreen of the Arkansas Razorback logo. The trunk features deep recessed handles and Colson 4" casters.
Special thanks to Chuck and the whole Razorbacks staff!
