Radio Charging Trunk Road Case For Boise State University
This custom radio charging case was designed for Boise State University. The custom workstation built by LM Cases is designed to hold multiple radio (walkie talkie) bases and mount them to slide out drawers.
Each slide out drawer features a custom marine grade plastic bracket that contours the shape of the radio charging units. These brackets keep the charging bases in place during transport. A Velcro strap is also provided for redundancy. Power is provided to each shelf via LM Tour Systems DSK-SM modules. Each DSK-SM is loaded with a Leviton duplex outlet that features 2 standard AC plugs in addition to a USB C and USB A for charging. The DSK-SM boxes are fed via a Neutrik True1 inlet allowing them to be removed or moved if needed. Power from each drawer is routed centrally to a retractable cable reel. The reel features 30ft of cable and prevents the need to carry a separate power cable. All power items were specified and installed by the LM Cases Custom Integration Dept.
The case features 3 drawer specifically for charging and 2 open drawers for storage. All drawers are built from ½” Baltic Birch plywood finished with black textured coating and mounted on HD Accuride glides. The 2 open storage drawers feature usable internal dimensions of 32.375” wide x 18” deep x 3.5” tall.
The exterior case is built from ½” plywood laminated with black ABS plastic. The front 2 doors are mounted via 270-degree double knuckle hinge allowing them to fold flat against the sides of the case during use. The doors feature a centered handle that activates latch point at the top and bottom of each door. A protective marine grade plastic gasket is provided around each handle to protect them during use. The case features 4 deep recessed Penn Elcom handles. 6” HD field casters are provided for transport.
