Florida Gators Workbox
This trunk was built for the Florida Gators to provide a quick access storage solution that can live on the sideline during games. The trunk features 8 storage drawers built out of 1/2" Baltic Birch. Each section of 4 drawers are mounted in an independent cabinet that is isolated from the exterior case. Building an independent inner cabinet from the exterior case prevents exterior stresses from transferring to the drawer glides; the exterior panels can flex without affecting the drawer glides. This design is superior to mounting the drawers directly to the exterior case and will provide years of service.
The exterior case is built out of 3/8" plywood laminated with dark blue ABS plastic. The exterior also features a custom silkscreen of the Gators logo, recessed handles and 8" field casters.
