All In One Percussion Large Format Transport Case
This custom case designed by LM Cases is intended to hold a percussion setup. The case holds all the items needed for a complete percussion rig in one large format case.
Most compartments in the case follow a similar build procedure of PE foam with HDPE plastic laminate which allows the equipment to slide in and out without tearing the foam. The top left compartment is designed to hold a Pearl Mallet Station. Below the Mallet Station compartment are 3 storage drawers. Each drawer is built from ½” Baltic Birch plywood, finished with black textured coating and mounted on HD Accuride glides. All three drawers are carpet lined and intended for general storage.
The top right compartment is carpet lined and designed as open storage for larger items like wind chimes. A tall vertical compartment is intended for a glockenspiel. A carpet lined compartment is located to the right of the glockenspiel compartment to hold a 4U SKB rack loaded with in ear monitors. Below the IEM rack compartment is a custom drawer designed to hold video monitors. The monitor drawer features a custom non-abrasive Crosslink foam insert to prevent scratching the monitor screens.
A centrally located hardware compartment is provided to hold various stands and 2 drum rugs. The compartment is lined with ½” PE foam with 1/8” white HDPE plastic laminated. The combination of foam and plastic allows for durability, allowing the stands to be roughly placed and not tear the foam. The white plastic provides a high contrast background allowing black colored stands to be clearly seen. Two large conga compartments are provided. Each compartment is lined with PE foam laminated with black ¼” marine grade plastic at the bottom to allow each conga to slide in and out easily. A compartment for bongos is located below the conga compartment with the same foam/plastic construction. A larger accessory drawer is provided under the left conga compartment for general storage.
The case exterior is built from ½” plywood laminated with black ABS plastic. The case features a large removable front lid. The hardware set includes 6 large, recessed latches and 16 deep recessed handles. The case rides on 6 Colson 4” casters mounted via a ¾” full sized caster board. The front 3 casters are locking.
