Dr. Z X-Ray Combo Amp Road Case
This custom case is designed for the Steve Miller for his Dr Z X-Ray Combo guitar amplifier. The case interior is lined with 1” PE foam, with 2” PE foam under the amp. The bottom foam accommodates the amp cabinet’s feet with 4 circular cut outs allowing the cabinet to sit directly on the foam. This accommodation is also provided in the lid foam for the cabinet’s top strap handle.
The case exterior is built from 3/8” plywood laminated with your choice of ABS plastic colors. The lid features a centered handle which helps with maneuverability and removing the lid. The lid also features stacking caster wells which allows the amp to be elevated securely if you desire to bring the amp closer to your ears vs the stage deck. 4” casters are provided for transport. The front 2 casters lock to keep the case in place on uneven stages. The case exterior features a custom Steve Miller Band "SMB" stencil with the ID of the case contents.
